Widow's Waltz

Widow's Waltz 1, You are the beloved dead, I am la Catrina: (Eres tu la muertita, soy yo la Catrina). She dies, I feel dead.

Widow's Waltz 1:

You are the beloved dead, I am la Catrina

(Eres tu la muertita, soy yo la Catrina)

La Calavera Catrina, created by José Guadalupe Posada in 1913, has become an important part of celebrations of Los Dias de los Muertos, the Days of the Dead. Here she carries marigolds, the flowers of the dead, and wears a mourner's veil as she dances with her novia. The banners of papel picado depict doves for love, a butterfly for the spirit, and cactus for endurance.
